A scythe though gives you the ability to dish damage out over a larger range, even if the player uses a shield.50% more effective strength and 5% additional damage on top of that. When you two hand weapons, you get 1.5 times effect in your strength stat. So if you have 20 strength, two handing a weapon gives you a effective 30 strength. Also, moveset. movesets change when one handing or two handing. Put points into dexterity and infuse it with a sharp gem and you'll be fine until the end, doing great damage. If you want to do strength or magic or something though, then you'll need to infuse with something else. Crystal infusion scales well with the Uchigatana for magic users with intelligence.
